“I got the idea to create this web app when I noticed that only a few people in front of a board of hiking trails then make use of the proposed GPS tracks, as they are considered by most to be tools for experts and specialists only. A pity, because the signposting does not always meet the proper expectations and one often ends up having just an impromptu walk. To overcome this sort of psychological obstacle I decided to combine my two passions, that for trekking and hiking, together with web programming, in order to create a user friendly hiking web app which would be suitable for everyone. With the advantage that Smartour does not limit itself to orientation on the territory but also provides for interactive tourist information that offers a complete and satisfying experience for all its users.”
